Fable Writing Workshops
Ever wonder how Aesop came
up with all of those fables? How do you write a story that ends with a moral?
Did you know James Thurber also wrote fables? You’ll learn this and more at our
Fable Writing Workshops coming to a library near you!
Join our fantastic teachers Kathy Matthews and Valerie Cumming as they take you into the wonderful, wacky world of fables. The free two-hour workshop is open to all 4th through 6th graders and you’ll hear examples of fables from James Thurber, learn what makes a fable, and then put your imagination to work composing your own.
You won’t want to miss the celebration party at Thurber Center on Sunday, March 11 where all participants are invited to take part in arts and crafts, an open mic to share your fables (voluntarily of course) and you’ll receive a booklet of your library’s fables.

Instructors: Kathy Matthews and Valerie Cumming are both freelance writers who have taught various classes at our Summer Writing Camp, Writing Wizards classes and our Ghost Writing Workshops.
