Evenings with Authors
Nationally known writers read and discuss their most recent books. Past authors include: Jodi Picoult, Laura Lippman, Nancy Horan, Simon Winchester, Chuck Klosterman and more. Each author gives a 50-minute reading, which is followed by a question-and-answer period. A book signing and reception follow the reading. Our Evenings with Authors series is divided into two seasons: Winter/Spring (January–May) and Fall (September–November).

Literary Picnics
Picnic under the evening summer sun as writers with Ohio connections read and discuss their most recent books. Past authors include Jennifer Crusie, Connie Schultz, Lee Martin, Joe Blundo, and Kevin Boyle. Each author gives a 50-minute reading, followed by a question and answer period and a book signing.

The Thurber Birthday Gala
Our annual fund-raising event. We celebrate James Thurber's December birthday in style with the Thurber Prize for American Humor winner as the featured entertainment.

Special Events
Special events include our non-series readings, special book publication celebrations for local authors, and much, much more! Authors have included Candace Bushnell, Alexander McCall Smith, Anna Quindlen, and Ruth Reichl.
